Three postponements. Two venues across two countries. One epic wedding weekend that finally came together.
After multiple reschedules and the tumultuous year of uncertainty, Maria and Levi finally got their dream wedding, though it looked much different than what they imagined when they originally got engaged more than two years prior. And this epic destination wedding weekend came together in only four months’ time.
Due to covid, Maria + Levi had been forced to postpone their date three times, and after the third date fell through with their original venue, the couple decided to change everything and move their wedding to the first place they ever vacationed together, Harbour Island Bahamas. Spring is my favorite time of year for sessions, and Railroad Park was showing off for us on this beautiful afternoon. We found the perfect spot that overlooks the city for their second look, and golden hour on the hillside was magical. The roses were in bloom, and I’m still dreaming of how fragrant they were. What a perfect backdrop to document their love.
It was such an honor to be a part of this incredible couple’s wedding day in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama–the city where they met and fell in love. It’s been wonderful getting to know Gina & Spencer during such a special chapter in their lives. The couple’s families and friends traveled from near and far to witness them take their vows and celebrate together. We began Gina & Spencer’s day at the historic Redmont Hotel. The Redmont made such a gorgeous backdrop as the wedding party spent the morning here getting ready. One of my favorite moments from the morning was the first look between Gina & her parents with her sisters looking on. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. The Roof at the Redmont was the perfect space for Spencer and his groomsmen to relax before heading over to The Cathedral of St Paul for the ceremony.
Gina &Spencer’s reception took place at the beautiful in downtown Birmingham. Hearing their families give such heartfelt and beautiful speeches during the toasts brought tears to my eyes. These two met in med school at UAB, and Spencer’s brother toasted “you’ve been our role model, our confidant, our doctor, our best friend, and I’m so happy that you’ve found your role model, your confidant, your doctor, and your best friend.” When Gina’s sister spoke, she mentioned that throughout their lives Gina was their North Star, always leading them back home. In just the small amount of time I’ve known them, I can tell that these are just the kind of people they are, always caring for others. I know that she and Spencer will be that for each other throughout everything life sends their way, each other’s North stars. Looking for a Birmingham Wedding Photographer? I’d love to chat with you. They say love finds you when you least expect it, and I’d bet neither of these two expected to find their soul mate in Auburn that day they met back in the fall of 2016. Charlsie is an Auburn graduate and Ryan was raised in south Louisiana and is a huge LSU fan. The two […]
An afternoon including lush, fragrant rose blooms, sipping champagne on a hillside overlooking the city during a golden sunset, and spending time soaking it all in with the one you love…what could be better? I had the pleasure of spending a perfect spring day strolling the Birmingham Botanical Gardens with Gina and her fiancé, Spencer, […]
This stylish destination wedding in Alys Beach, Florida was a dream to capture. Friends and family traveled from all over the world to celebrate as the beautiful couple became husband and wife. The most incredible rainbow appeared during their stroll along the beach just after they said “I do!”, making this one of our favorite […]
